I have an OBIEE 11g Client, through which I have opened an RPD.
When I am trying to import data from database it was giving the error like Connection has failed .
Follow below steps to overcome this issue.
Go to below location and search for bi_init file.
C:\Program Files\Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition Plus Client\oraclebi\orahome\bifoundation\server\

Open bi_init file in edit mode

Please add TNS_ADMIN entry to the bi_init.bat file to point to your Oracle client tnsnames.ora home directory path as shown in above screen shot.
Now OBIEE client tool will connect to database.
